Instagram Reel downloader: what to know
Reels are short vertical videos, usually 9:16, and they are the most requested format on this site. Paste the link of any public Reel and we fetch the highest quality version Instagram provides, as a normal MP4 that plays in every video app.
Links that contain /reel/ or /reels/ are accepted, including links with extra tracking text after the code. Download only Reels you made or have permission to reuse, and credit the creator when you share them.

Tips for better results
- Reels normally download with their audio, including music added in Instagram.
- If the Reel is very new, wait a minute and try again; Instagram sometimes needs time to publish the video file.
- Reposting someone else's Reel without permission can break copyright rules. Ask first, and always credit.
- For a smaller file to send over messaging apps, trim or compress the MP4 after saving it.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Reel keep its sound?
Yes. The MP4 contains the same audio track that plays on Instagram, including music added to the Reel.
Why is my saved Reel vertical?
Reels are recorded and published in a tall 9:16 shape. We save the file as it is, without cropping or resizing.
Can I download a Reel from a private account?
No. Only Reels that can be opened without logging in are supported.
Is this downloader free?
Yes. There is no fee, no account and no software to install. The site is supported by advertising.
Which links work?
Public Instagram links that contain /reel/, /reels/, /p/ or /tv/, and instagram.com/share/ links copied from the app. Links from private accounts do not work.
Can I download Stories, Highlights or private posts?
No. We cannot and do not access anything that requires a login. That includes Stories, Highlights and private accounts.
What quality will I get?
The best file Instagram provides for that post. We do not compress the video or add a watermark. If the source is low resolution, so is the download.
Do you store my videos or links?
We do not save downloaded media. The file passes through our server to your device. The media address is cached for about 20 minutes so repeat requests are fast, and short technical logs are kept for security. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Why do I see "We could not find a downloadable file"?
Usually the post is private, was deleted, is age or region restricted, or Instagram has not finished publishing it. Open the link in a private browser window to check. If it opens there and still fails, try again later.
Why am I told to wait a minute?
To keep the service available for everyone, each connection can look up about 10 new links per minute. Shared networks, such as mobile data, can reach this faster.
Is it legal to download Instagram content?
Saving a copy for personal, offline use is generally treated differently from re-publishing it, but the rules depend on your country and on who owns the content. Instagram's terms also apply. Always get permission before reposting, and credit the creator.
Use it responsibly
Instagram content belongs to its creators. Save a post for personal, offline viewing, or when you have the owner's permission. Do not re-upload other people's work as your own, and credit the creator when you share with permission. Copyright owners can ask us to remove links through our DMCA page.
